Olympic champion assumes biathlon stars doping

Dmitry Vasilyev raises violent allegations against Norway’s top biathletes. It is not the first time that the Russian goes public with such accusations.
Olympic champion Dmitry Vasilyev has caused a sensation with violent accusations. The currently running World Cup in Lenzerheide is a “World Cup of the Liar and Doper,” said 62-year-old Russian and directed his criticism primarily against the Norwegian athletes.
“I am not interested in looking at races in which no Russian athletes take part,” Vasilyev told VSEPROPORT. In his opinion, the Norwegians are “legalized Doper”, which is why he sees no reason to look at their results. Russian athletes have been excluded from international biathlon sport for several years because of the war of aggression on Ukraine.
Vasilyev also claims that the alleged doping will soon be exposed. In his view, this is the real reason for the resignation of the brothers Johannes Thingnes Bö and Tarjei Bö a year before the Olympic Games. “Each of them has a number of imaginary diseases. For some reason they are all asthmatics,” he said. If the doping is prohibited, according to Vasilyev, the results in biathlon and cross -country skiing would change drastically.
He did not provide evidence of his allegations. Also exciting: On the proven doping cases in the Russian team (including Alexander Loginov), today’s president of the St. Petersburg biathlon association was not expressed.
It is not the first time that Vasilyev Norway’s biathlon team is publicly accusing the doping. A little more than a year ago he had already said in the direction of Bö & Co.: “You dopen! You have to compete against her as if you were starting a tank with a fork.”
