Living to dead life longer: As a royal returnee, Oliver Burke at Werder Bremen actually no longer had a big perspective, but the Scots recommended himself for months in training and was rewarded by coach Ole Werner with a new chance. The attacker knew how to use them and is now even a regular player of the green and whites. No wonder that the SVW bosses want to extend the expiring contract of the surprise clipper-however, it is adorned.
In recent years, Oliver Burke has been liable to the image of unfulfilled promise. Once brought to the Bundesliga by RB Leipzig, the offensive man did not make a breakthrough in the Saxons, nor at his subsequent stations in England and Spain. And even as Werder Bremen brought the ex-international in 2022 to the Weser, not much came after a promising start.
Twice, the Hanseatic children gave their problem child to the second English league, but again Burke left no traces. Correspondingly behavior was reacted to in Bremen when the striker was back on the mat in the presumer.
Because no buyer for Burke was found up to the Deadline Day, he continued to train with the team without having realistic opportunities in competitive games. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old stayed tuned, which coach Ole Werner rewarded with first joker missions.
Burke paid back the trust, even conquered a regular place in early March and today stands in six goals in 24 games. Suddenly the “Scotsman with the Bart” with its dynamics and force is an important factor for Werder, whose responsible persons have rethought and want to extend with its late bloomer.
Burke rejects salary reduction at Werder
Problem: Since Burke was considered extremely faithful in his career so far, the Bremeners only want to extend his working paper to lower covers and extends them in terms of performance.
According to the “Bild”, however, the vertical starter rejected the salary reduction of its 1.2 million euros annually by 40 percent, as was an improved offer. An agreement is therefore “not in sight for the time being”.
“We are still in constructive conversations. We do not give up water level messages,” said sports director Peter Niemeyer to the boulevard leaf.
It is possible that Burke recently made himself interesting for other clubs and therefore he poker. On the other hand, the Scots recently emphasized how much he would like to stay on Werder and how he would like to stay. Sequel follows!
