Olimpia makes it two out of two at the Forum: Brooks and his teammates overwhelm Reyer 92-79 in game 2 of the Serie A finals and take a 2-0 lead. The MVP of the championship was the most decisive among Poeta’s men with the blaze at the end of the second quarter which, all things considered, closed the issue after just one half of play. On Tuesday 16 June the series moves to Taliercio, where Milan will have the opportunity to score the first match point of the Lba Finals.

the match

The start of the match is all Olimpia’s, as the 13-2 on the scoreboard says after 4′ of the match. Milan goes at double the speed, forces 4 turnovers in the opening stages and then stings on the counterattack. The shot from beyond the arc also works great: 5/7 from 3 and 31 points scored in the first quarter. Venezia enters the game in the second period thanks to Valentine, but the defensive phase is still not working. LeDay takes advantage of this, as he is on fire from long range: 16 points in the first 20′ without even a single miss from the arc on 4 attempts. At the end of the first half Brooks also lights up, Milan concludes the first half of the match with a 14-0 run which allows Poeta’s team to return to the locker room ahead by 23 points (62-39).

there is no story

Reyer shows she wants to fight with a 9-0 counter-partial that punishes Milan’s bland return to the field, but there is once again Brooks, who stops his team’s empty pass with two consecutive rings from the perimeter. The rest of the second half is just a long EA7 catwalk, which also reaches +27 and is close to repeating the record of 28 assists achieved in game 1: tonight it achieved “only” 27. Venezia no longer falls below the double-digit deficit, on Tuesday evening at Taliercio it will have to completely reorganize its defense if it wants to keep alive the last remaining hopes of extending the series.

Milan: Brooks 19, LeDay 18, Bolmaro 16

Venice: Wiltjer 19, Cole 16, Candi 11
