Italy’s national player Marco Verratti is moving to the desert. The 30-year-old midfielder is leaving French champions Paris Saint-Germain after eleven years and joining Qatari club Al-Arabi. PSG announced this on Wednesday evening.
According to media reports, the transfer fee will be between 45 and 50 million euros.
“Paris, the club and its fans will always have a very special place in my heart. I will be a Parisian forever,” said the European champion, who was a fan favorite in the French capital, in the plans of new PSG coach Luis Enrique but no longer played a major role.
PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi paid tribute to Verratti, saying he played “an important role in our great history”.
