Most recently, Adam Karabec was in the training camp with his parent club Sparta Prague – but soon he could open again in Hamburg. The 22-year-old is about to go to HSV again, reports the “Bild”.

It is therefore planned: Sparta extends the contract with the Czech U21 international by 2027, the HSV should be able to borrow it again in return by 2026. Karabec came to 31 league missions last season (24 of them in the starting eleven), scored three goals and prepared seven. The club had a purchase option of over 4.2 million euros, but Sparta also found no other customer.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga ended his career as a professional after 15 years. The 33-year-old played for Hertha BSC, Leeds United and Schalke 04, among others-but his time at Hamburger SV was particularly formative. In conversation with the “Sport Bild”, his career rated the school grade 1: “It was just a really nice career at great clubs.”

He particularly emphasizes his years in Hamburg. “How many people dream of playing for the HSV for such a long period of time? For me, this is something extraordinary,” he said.

His goal in 2014 remains unforgettable in the relegation secondary against Fürth (1: 1), who secured the HSV at the last minute. In 2017, Lasogga scored dramatically in the 90th+2. Minute to 1-1 on Schalke. The goal made it possible for the HSV to remain in the Bundesliga with a 2-1 win against Wolfsburg on his own.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga also follows the current HSV with great interest. After seven years in the 2nd league, he sees the return to the Bundesliga as a huge challenge. “Suddenly the HSV is no longer the offensive team that pushes the opponents in the back,” he warned. The relegation will require a lot of work. Nevertheless, the 33-year-old hopes that his ex-club will be at the top again.

After seven years of second class, Hamburger SV is back in the Bundesliga. The euphoria in the Hanseatic city is huge. But ex-HSV coach Thomas Doll urges not to hope for a surprisingly successful season. “Nobody can deal with this idea at the HSV. That can quickly backfire,” said the 59-year-old in an interview with the “Sport Bild”.

Above all, Doll sees the lack of first division experience of many older players critically: “You can’t expect them to make a huge jump again.” A good start is crucial for relegation. “The force of fans and club is huge. But she alone doesn’t keep you in the Bundesliga,” said Doll.
