Odlo, a Swiss-based performance apparel brand, is collaborating with Trimco Group to support its journey towards Digital Product Passport (DPP) – starting with compliance with France’s AGEC law. All products in the Odlo Spring-Summer 2025 collection and beyond will be equipped with QR codes on the product labels, leading to a unique DPP of that product – a digital twin of the care label. This new initiative allows consumers to access more detailed information about the production of a garment, from fabric production to the dyeing processes to the finished product.
With a rich tradition in the outdoor sector and a loyal customer base that expects both functionality and sustainability from the brand, Odlo is proactively preparing for the European Union’s DPP requirements, which are expected to be finalized in early 2026. By working closely with Trimco’s ProductDNA teams and leveraging Trimco’s expertise in trims and labeling, the brand has decided to choose AGEC compliance as the starting point for its DPP journey. This is an important first step towards greater transparency for the brand – with further developments to come.
Odlo is no newcomer to sustainability. The brand has a strong tradition of sustainability and circular economy and introduced its first recycling initiative back in 1994. In 2011, Odlo completed its first product life cycle analysis and in the same year launched the first seamless base layer made from 100% recycled materials. Today, sustainability remains a core focus of the brand, embodied in its “We can do more” commitment, which aims to protect the people and outdoor places we love.
“We see the start of our DPP journey as an opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future by making it easier to reuse and recycle products throughout their life cycle through greater traceability,” says Johanna Heimlicher, Sustainability Director at Odlo. “Trimco Group offers end-to-end solutions that perfectly fit our objectives and has provided us with valuable assistance in AGEC compliance by meeting all of our requirements to enable an initial rollout of QR code labeling.”
“Originally founded in Norway, Odlo is a brand deeply rooted in Norwegian tradition. We are very proud to support them on their DPP journey,” explains Camilla Mjelde, Compliance & Sustainability Director at Trimco Group. “By starting DPP preparations early on, Odlo is ideally positioned to fully exploit the many advantages of this digital tool and confidently master future requirements.”
