The accident happened around half past seven in the morning, near the T-intersection of Prins Karellaan and August Derrestraat. The car in question came out of Prins Karellaan at high speed and was unable to brake or take the bend in time at the intersection. The car then crashed into the front of a terraced house.
The impact and damage were great. The walls of the front garden were destroyed, as were a cargo bike, bicycles and children’s bicycles belonging to the family. The front door was also damaged, a window broke and the wall under the window showed cracks.
