Nuremberg Ice Tigers advance to pre-playoff rank

The Nuremberg Ice Tigers have advanced to the pre-playoff ranks in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

With a 4:1 (0:0, 1:0, 3:1) against the Straubing Tigers, the Franconians celebrated their second win in the past three games and pushed the Iserlohn Roosters out of the middle of the table.

Straubing, on the other hand, missed a more comfortable starting position for the upcoming final sprint for the first six playoff places after two successes in a row. Lower Bavaria, in fourth place, is still only seven points ahead of seventh.

Ingolstadt took the lead through Gregor MacLeod (31st). Although the guests equalized in the final section through Michael Connolly (48′), Daniel Schmölz (54′), Ryan Stoa (56′) and Patrick Reimer (59′) made the Ice Tigers’ 13th home win perfect.
