This mainly concerns inrijnderboden that are referred to as the C12 traffic sign. This is often used to indicate inrijnderboden of a car -free city center or environmental zone. The number of violations was almost halved (from 117,893 to 62,533). The entire previous year was on the other hand, an increase in these violations.
Inflow traffic fines WAHV
The total number of violations based on the Administrative Enforcement of Traffic Regulations (WAHV), the so-called Mulder fines, amounted to 2,288,788 in the same period of 2024 in the first four months of this year, this was 2,592.939. This is about traffic violations such as speed and parking, red light and handheld telephone use.
The decrease in traffic fines was mainly with the influx of speed cameras and mobile radarsets. Police and the Public Prosecution Service have already indicated that this can be explained, among other things, by maintenance and replacement of the equipment.
Very recently a new enforcement agent has been added: the so -called focus flash that can see if a driver makes an unauthorized use of a mobile device (telephone). In the coming months, more of these flash units will be placed in the country in the coming months to a total of 50 in 2026. The focus flash units will always be placed temporarily and are expected to reduce telephone use behind the steering wheel, which increases safety on the road. The first figures of this were to be expected in September of this year.
The percentage of standing positions by the police in these first months of the year has risen slightly from 7.6 % to 8.5 %
