FOOTBALL – FC Emmen has booked a good and simple victory over Young FC Utrecht. In the Oude Meerdijk it became 2-0 for the team of trainer Alfons Arts, who climbs through the victory over Roda JC to eighth place in the Kitchen Champion Division.

From the start, FC Emmen was the parent against the number nineteen in the ranking. In the seventh minute that already resulted in the opening goal. From a corner, Kelian Nsona got the ball in front of his feet and from five meters he hit hard: 1-0.

The home team continued to dominate, but could not convert the predominance before rest into a greater lead. Jalen Hawkins was close to a goal twice. In the 26th minute he came across keeper De Graaff, who managed to tap the ball over his bar. Just before half -time it was again the goalkeeper of the Utrecht residents who brought salvation after a shot from Alaa Bakir.

Young FC Utrecht did not mention much. Only in the 56th minute FC Emmen goalkeeper Jan Hoekstra had to intervene for the first time when he slipped a ball in front of Edhart’s feet. This happened for the branch of Young FC Utrecht, which had brought surprisingly many supporters. The club from the Domstad was also surprised by this, but more than a hundred fans had responded to a call from the Bunnikide to support their young team.

The midfielder was heavily injured in the game with Young Ajax on Tuesday after a collision with the keeper.

Due to the victory, FC Emmen climbs to the eighth place, which can give right to the after competition at the end of the season. The team of Drenthe will only play again in two weeks, when the away match against MVV is on the program on 28 March.
