The Helsinki police will not start a preliminary investigation in the case concerning the loss of the crown of former Miss Finland Sarah Dzafce.
– There is no reason to suspect a crime in the case, director of investigations, crime commissioner Katariina Rinne commented to Iltalehti.
Attorney for Sarah Dzafce, LL.D Kari Uoti previously told Iltalehte about the investigation request made to the Helsinki police.
– We believe that there is reason to suspect that it meets the hallmarks of a crime, and that Sarah has possibly been the target of a crime in it. We have asked the police to investigate whether Sunneva Sjögrén was guilty of defamation, racketeering or other crimes in the event related to the moment of the seizure of the crown and around it, Uoti said.
Sarah Dzafce commented on the police’s recent decision to Iltalehte with relief.
– When we started investigating this issue with Kari, even though many may think, my motive was not compensation or to get the crown back or to take revenge on the organization. I purely wanted to find out my rights and whether a crime has occurred here, Dzafce says to Iltalehte.
– Now that the decision has come, I feel more relieved because I have moved on with my life and focused on other things.
Dzafce adds that the police’s decision confirms to him that he can happily continue to focus on other things.
– Without having any reason to suspect that I was the victim of a crime. This was a relieving message for me as well, Dzafce commented.
For now, Dzafce does not comment on whether there are still some steps to be taken in the future in this regard.
– This is just such a recent thing. We always deal with one thing at a time, he is content to state.
This is how the miss boss commented
Sunneva Sjögrén, CEO of the Miss Suomi organization, also commented on the recent decision in a relieved mood.
– The feeling is naturally easier. This has been an exceptionally difficult period both personally and for the organization, so the decision brings much-needed clarity and peace to the situation, Sjögrén commented in an email to Iltalehti.
He says that he trusted all along that the authorities would evaluate the matter independently and based on the available material.
– Throughout the process, I have acted on the basis of the information that the organization had available, and tried to handle the situation responsibly and with respect for all parties.
Sunneva Sjögrén commented that the uproar period was difficult both for her personally and for the organization. Maarit Pohjanpalo
Sjögrén reminds that Miss Finland is above all a value-based position of trust, where visibility also comes with responsibility.
Like Dzafce, Sjögrén writes in her email that she is now focusing her eyes on the future and, for example, on the Miss Finland 2026 competition.
– I wish Sarah Dzafce all the best for the future, Sjögrén concludes.
