The Fischtown Penguins won two games in the DEL within just 24 hours. For Düsseldorf, however, the situation is becoming more and more precarious.
The Bremerhaveners won 4: 2 (1: 0, 0: 1, 3: 1) on Wednesday at the Löwen Frankfurt on Wednesday. The lions, currently outside the pre-playoff places, kept up well for a long time, but Bremerhaven Vikingstad decided the game with two goals in the final third (53rd and 60th) in favor of the guests from the north.
Remarkable: Bremerhaven did not do a single minute’s prime minute in the game, Frankfurt only two.
Victory against Mannheim the day before
Just 24 hours earlier, Bremerhaven prevailed 5: 3 (1: 2, 3: 0, 1: 1) in the catch -up game of the 41st matchday against the strong Adler Mannheim. With the victory it was clear that the team of coach Alexander Sulzer, as the current fifth in the table, would no longer be suppressed by one of the first six places.
Twice the penguins came behind by goals by Markus Hännikäinen (7th) and Daniel Fischbuch (17th). But Markus Vikingstad (17th) and Phillip Bruggisser (26th) equalized. Miha Verlic (36.) and Justin Büsing (37th) put the hosts in the lead with a double strike. Tom Kühnhackl shortened again (44.) before Nino children made the decision (52nd).
In addition, leaders are already qualified for the round of the last eight.
DEG tightens crisis
At the bottom of the table, the situation for Düsseldorfer eG is becoming more and more precarious. Three days after the goal show at the Löwen Frankfurt (8: 4), the eight -time champions were defeated by the Nuremberg Ice Tigers 4: 5 (2: 1, 1: 3, 1: 1) and missed the bottom of the Augsburg panther. Düsseldorf still has only one point ahead.
In the fifth last main round game, the guests had to get by without a striker Tyler Gaudet, but the DEG took the lead three times through Paul Postma (8th, 27th) and Drake Rymsha (19th). Nuremberg succeeded in equalizing, then Mark Rassell (39.) brought the ICE Tigers forward for the first time. Jeremy McKenna made the preliminary decision (49th), the connection goal of the Düsseldorfer by Alexander EHL brought nothing (60th).
Düsseldorf stays four games to prevent the threatening crash into the DEL2. Among other things, the decisive duel in Augsburg is still on the program (March 4). “We haven’t played for 60 minutes what we should play”said DEG striker Luis üffing in magenta.
