Nottingham Forest open to sale by ex-Cologne Emmanuel Dennis

Summer access usually only jokers

According to a media report in England, Nottingham Forest is open to selling ex-Cologne Emmanuel Dennis (25). The attacker was one of 24 additions to the newly promoted Premier League last summer, who invested 162 million euros in new players – around 15 million euros of which went to Dennis, who moved from Watford FC to the “Tricky Trees”. The Nigeria international has made 12 appearances (one goal/two assists) for the club, but has come off the bench eight times.

Summer 2022: Clubs with the highest transfer spends

As a consequence, Dennis was one of the losers in the latest market value update in England when he was devalued by 2 million euros to currently 12 million euros. How “The Athletic“ reported that Nottingham should be ready to give Dennis back after only half a year. Because the offensive power has already been used at ex-club Watford and Nottingham this season, the only option is a move abroad. According to the FIFA Statutes, a player may be registered with a maximum of three clubs in one season, but can only play competitive matches for two clubs within the same association. Dennis’ contract with Nottingham runs until 2026.

While Dennis is being linked with a departure, manager Steve Cooper is keen to strengthen the side, who sit 18th in the relegation zone after 17 games. The 43-year-old hopes that Nottingham will become active in the winter transfer period, he recently answered a question on the TV channel “Sky Sports”. “If we can sign the right players in the right positions then we want to do that,” he said. He trusts the club “that he gets to work”, in return he will “work every day with the players who come to the training ground”.
