RB Leipzig was very active on the last day of the transfer window. In Eljif Elmas and Lutsharel Geertruida, the Bundesliga club was able to get two professionals from the salary list by loan, in Conrad Harder there is a beefy offensive player from Sporting Lisbon, as RB announced.

The 20 -year -old center forward, who moves to Leipzig as a Portuguese champion and cup winner, receives a contract for five years until 2030.

Harder, who was trained at the Danish first division club FC Nordsjælland, had only moved to Portugal last summer and had scored eleven goals across competitions and did the preparatory work for seven goals. In March, the 1.85 meter long professional celebrated his debut in the Danish national team.

“With Conrad we win a striker that fits perfectly in our profile,” said sports manager Marcel Schäfer, “he is tall, physically and mentally strong, assertive and has speed and a very dangerous left foot. At the same time, he already has experience at an international level.”

Openda deduction runs

On the other hand, the departure of striker Loïs Openda is still pulling. The Belgian national football player is said to have received the release for negotiations with Juventus Turin and is already on the way to Italy. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and “Sky” report, the clubs agree on a loan with a later purchase option. The overall package should be well over 40 million euros. However, a confirmation is still going.

OPENDA only came to Leipzig from RC Lens for 40 million euros two years ago and still has a contract until June 30, 2028. After a strong start with 28 goals, the 25-year-old remained significantly below expectations with just 13 competitive fights.

Geertruida goes to Sunderland

Leipzig will also leave Lutsharel Geertruida, which goes to the AFC Sunderland on a loan. The 25 -year -old Dutch came last summer and was under contract with RB until June 30, 2029, but was unable to assert itself properly on the right full -back position.

The return from Eljif Elmas to SSC Naples is also fixed. The 25 -year -old midfielder switched from Naples to Cottaweg in January 2024, but was never able to prevail in Leipzig in the 22 competitive games. Elmas had already been loaned to the Italian first division club FC Turin in the past round round.
