De Flint primary school in Nietap can look forward to a new building, which will also serve as an upgraded village hall including childcare. The entire Noordenveld municipal council agreed to this tonight.
“The entire society of Nietap benefits from it, so congratulations for this proposal,” said VVD councilor Free Hoving on October 18. The municipal council is pleased with the way in which the Noordenveld council has included ‘the village’ in creating this plan. It is therefore not surprising that the zoning plan was approved two weeks later.
The zoning plan was drawn up a year later than the municipality had hoped. This was mainly due to the ‘participation process’, which involved collaboration with residents. “That took a long time,” councilor Robert Meijer (VVD) admitted two weeks ago. “But perhaps that is precisely why there is no dissension among residents about this plan.”
A challenge remains in the temporary housing of the students when the new building is built. “We hope to come up with a proposal early next year,” said councilor Kirsten Ipema (Municipal Interests).
There is no place for ‘sports education’ in the plan for De Flint. “There is a playroom, but for gym they will move to another location within our municipality,” says Ipema.
The one concern that lingers concerns the cost of the plan. “In 2021, the plan was still estimated at 2.7 million euros,” says Casper Colenbrander (Municipal Interests). “That is now already 3.2 million euros due to the rising costs of construction. The final design has yet to be made and we hope that they will not rise further.”
