Flawless champion Poutsma is reminiscent of absent short track star

LEEUWARDEN – Selma Poutsma did it in the way that Suzanne Schulting often left the competition without a chance. The 22-year-old short track star thundered during the Dutch National Championships on all distances (500, 1000 and 1500) to gold, in order to take the all-round title unthreatened. Defending champion Schulting herself was missing from the Elfstedenhal in Leeuwarden because of groin complaints, where national coach Jeroen Otter would have liked she had started.
