The postal workers in Veurne have largely stopped working since Friday. In recent days, Bpost management has come up with temporary measures to reduce the high workload, but the union and postal workers experience these as insufficient.
“That is very unfortunate. I sense good intentions on the part of Bpost, but people persist,” says Bruno Derveaux, sector representative. “The solutions offered are insufficient today. They are mainly aimed at rural areas, not at cities such as Veurne and Nieuwpoort. This causes division between postal workers. That is why the proposal has not been accepted.”
