Niki Tuuli drove to victory in the World Championship

Luca Gorini / Niki Tuule’s briefing

Track motorcyclist Niki Tuuli, 27, drove to victory in the Supersport class on Saturday in Indonesia. The victory was made possible by the earlier pole position.

Tuuli, who recovered to the race tracks after the accident in May, celebrated his first victory since 2017. The man from Imatra didn’t leave any chances for others and gasped for first place without any major problems.

The podium was also Tuule’s first of the season. All in all, there have been nine and two victories during his career.

– It wasn’t the easiest road, but we worked hard and didn’t give up, Tuuli celebrated on Instagram.

He drove to the MM series championship for the second time in a row Dominique Aegerter. The season continues with Sunday’s race and next week in Australia.

Last May, Tuuli had a violent accident, which cost the man months of recovery time and three toes. The driver commented to Iltalehti in the summer that he had to learn how to walk again.
