A strike by air traffic controllers is threatening on Monday evening at both Walloon airports. If no agreement is reached, night flights at Brussels South Charleroi Airport and Liège Airport could be disrupted. This may involve delays, cancellations or diverted flights. According to a source from ‘La Dernière Heure’, the action could start on Monday evening and last until 6.30 am on Tuesday, or even longer.

Skeyes does confirm that discussions are ongoing with the unions. A final decision had not yet been made late on Monday evening, but according to ‘Sudinfo’ the situation is already causing concern for night flights.

Cargo flights via Liège Airport and early holiday flights from Charleroi in particular could be affected if the strike continues. More clarity is expected in the coming hours.
