NFL: Giants let the San Francisco 49ers celebrate

The New York Giants win against the Green Bay Packers in a turbulent final phase. This also means: The San Francisco 49ers have their place in the 2023 NFL playoffs secure.

Thanks to support, the San Francisco 49ers have booked their first NFL ticket to the playoffs. Thanks to the somewhat surprising 24:22 by the New York Giants in the Monday Night Game at the Green Bay Packers, the Niners have already qualified for the playoffs early and can no longer be pushed out of the first seven places in the NFC. The team from California had already laid the template for playoff qualification with a 28:16 win against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

San Francisco 49ers: Third playoff appearance in a row

Head coach Kyle Shanahan’s team makes it into the postseason for the third time in a row. The Niners last appeared in the Super Bowl in 2019. There the team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs around star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

After Week 14, the 49ers are at the top of the NFC with a season record of 10-3 and would therefore have no chance of playing in the first round of the playoffs.

Before week 14, the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys would also have had the theoretical opportunity to secure their first playoff ticket. The Niners are the first team to receive this honor.

Niners dethrone Philadelphia

With Sunday’s victory, San Francisco has won five games in a row and is aiming for the next NFC West division title. The team has good cards in the race for the number 1 seed in the NFC, as it won the direct comparison against the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.

The Niners are convincing this season both on offense thanks to a brilliant performance from quarterback Brock Purdy, but also a tough defense around Nick Bosa. In current form, the Niners are the top favorite in the NFC and the Super Bowl.
