NFL Fantasy Football: The Starts and Sits for Week 6

Every game day, the general fantasy football player thinks about the correct formation of his fantasy team. In Week 6 the question arises again as to who will receive a “sit” and be benched and who will make it into our lineup as a “starter.”

But before we get started, let’s take a look at last week and this column. You all didn’t leave Jared Goff, Breece Hall and Travis Etienne on the bench if you trusted my words. Unfortunately, you also had to swallow the weak performances of Garrett Wilson, Hayden Hurst and the Atlanta Falcons defense. But that’s just how fantasy football is.

Start of Fantasy Football Week 6

QB Justin Fields vs. Minnesota Vikings

Over the past two weeks, Justin Fields has seemingly flipped the switch by finishing in the top three of all fantasy quarterbacks twice in a row. Even if he runs the ball less often, I would give him a “start” again in a favorable matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

RB Kyren Williams vs. Arizona Cardinals

Kyren Williams will get a lot of balls against the Arizona Cardinals and will automatically improve on his performance from last week of 53 yards on 13 carries. Because of his previous hip injury and his inconsistent performances, you may not want to play him every week. But you can trust him against the Cardinals.

RB Raheem Mostert vs. Carolina Panthers

Raheem Mostert will be one of the best running backs in fantasy football next weekend. The offense with lots of running plays and explosive plays is made for this and due to De’Von Achane’s extended absence, the main burden in the backfield will now fall on his shoulders.

WR Adam Thielen vs. Miami Dolphins

Adam Thielen is rookie quarterback Bryce Young’s number one receiver. He has been thrown at at least eight times in the last four games. So as long as the Carolina Panthers don’t acquire a new WR1 via trade, Thielen can pass as a solid starter in most fantasy leagues.

WR Jakobi Meyers vs. New England Patriots

Aside from the game against the Los Angeles Chargers and when he was unable to play against the Buffalo Bills due to a concussion, Jakobi Meyers has received at least ten targets in every game. He’s fit, so he should start again in your team against the New England Patriots.

TE Logan Thomas vs. Atlanta Falcons

Quarterback Sam Howell has learned who he can trust when a defense threatens to cut him off. Last week, Logan Thomas caught nine passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. Dalton Schultz was also a lifeline for CJ Stroud against Atlanta last week. Why shouldn’t it be Thomas again?

Streaming Defense: Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Commanders

Last week the Atlanta Falcons let me down. But against the Washington Commanders, even the Chicago Bears were able to score ten points and increase their previous score by 1,000 percent. That’s why we have to try the Falcons again.

Sit in Fantasy Football Week 6

CJ Stroud vs. New Orleans Saints

It appears the Houston Texans have found their new franchise quarterback. At least in easy matchups against weak defenses, CJ Stroud also knew how to impress in fantasy football. But Stroud lacks an elite attacking target and has a bad hand against the New Orleans Saints defense.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The way Rhamondre Stevenson is currently playing, you have to lose all trust in him. It’s only a matter of time before the New England Patriots leave their running back on the bench. But the team is generally disappointing, which is why it’s not worth hoping for Ezekiel Elliott at the moment.

RB Miles Sanders vs. Miami Dolphins

My expectations weren’t particularly high before the season anyway, but with his current finish as the 28th running back in fantasy football, Miles Sanders has managed to undercut them once again. In the last two weeks he has shared 50 percent of carries with Chuba Hubbard and soon Hubbard will replace him completely.

WR Josh Palmer vs. Dallas Cowboys

Mike Williams will be out for the entire season. This is a big loss for the Los Angeles Chargers, but a win for all fantasy owners of Keenan Allen and Josh Palmer. This will also become apparent in the next few weeks. On matchday six, however, I don’t like Palmer’s matchup and would rather leave him on the bench.

WR Gabe Davis vs. New York Giants

Gabe Davis has scored a touchdown in four straight games. But without big plays, there isn’t enough to justify the current hype. The Buffalo Bills don’t have to play risky deep passes against the New York Giants, which is why Davis is rarely involved in the game.

TE David Njoku vs. San Francisco 49ers

Against the Baltimore Ravens, David Njoku caught six passes and was sacked seven times. He scored 46 yards and over ten fantasy points (PPR). This is by far the best value of his season so far. He won’t repeat that against the San Francisco 49ers’ strong defense. Leave it alone and give it a “sit”.
