NFL: Amon-Ra St. Brown is brimming with confidence

German NFL fans look to Detroit with pride. Amon-Ra St. Brown is not only one of the top performers there, the German-American is even developing into one of the best slot receivers in the league. It’s clear that the 23-year-old is brimming with self-confidence.

“I believe in this: I am the best,” explained St. Brown in a recent interview with “Sport Bild” when asked where he would rank among the receivers. “All receivers would probably say that. That’s just how we are in this position,” said the Lions’ number 14, justifying his bold statement.

Speaking of the Lions: After narrowly missing the playoffs in the previous season, there will finally be postseason football in Detroit again in 2016. “We want to make the playoffs and win our division,” said St. Brown, who has big goals for his team. “If we can do that, then we have a chance. Every team wants to win the Super Bowl, including us,” the pass receiver mentally reached for the stars.

Meanwhile, St. Brown didn’t want to reveal his personal goals: “I haven’t told anyone my goals this time and I’d rather keep them to myself. Otherwise everyone will say at the end of the season that I missed my goals,” the receiver said mysteriously.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is hoping for a Lions game in Germany

The son of an American and a Rhinelander is of course also experiencing the NFL boom in Germany on the other side of the pond. “The way the NFL is being received in Germany is really cool. The fans in the USA are already used to the NFL and have the games every week. But in Germany it’s a little different. A game like that is something very special. Football is really growing in Germany. The fans love the sport,” said the receiver, enthusiastic about the enthusiasm of the German NFL fans.

It goes without saying that St. Brown would be really happy to play with the Lions in Germany. “That would be a dream,” said the 23-year-old. “I have family in Germany, my mother comes from there. I’m half-German. That would be awesome,” said the passport recipient, looking forward to an appearance in his mother’s homeland.
