Foxes Berlin consolidate the lead with a 34:26 home win against Eisenach

The next step to the title has been done: The Füchse Berlin celebrated their fourth victory in series in the handball Bundesliga on Thursday evening. The favorite did not give Eisenach a chance. World handball player Mathias Gidsel towered again.more

High lead to the break

For the foxes, the game began in the EWS Arena, sold out with 5,000 spectators, with reaching a small milestone. Fabian Wiede opened the game and recorded the 1,000 Bundesliga goal of the Berliner this season. And even after that, the lively gate throw continued. Led by the usual strong Mathias Gidsel, the guests led the guests clear after seven minutes (6-1).

In the meantime, Göppingen was able to bring himself back into striking distance with a little run, but there was no sign of nervousness in the title fight with the foxes. They stayed concentrated, kept control at all times and were able to rely on keeper Dejan Milosavljev again and again.

The hosts were not able to withstand the sovereign appearance of the league leader and especially his strong defensive for long and also allowed themselves numerous technical errors. The Berliners hardly left any gaps, repeatedly conquered the ball and showed themselves ice cold in the speed game. In addition, there were several time penalties against Göppingen. With a clear 21:11 lead for the foxes we went into the cabins.

The second guard also convinced

Even after the break, there was nothing to shake the pure dominance of the guests. The game now got a little slower and the home side could be carried away to fewer mistakes, but the foxes were also strong in the moderately more moderate game structure and always had an eye for the free teammate under pressure. Often these were the strong outside players Tim Freihöfer and Hakun West Av Teigum.

Just ten minutes before the end, coach Jaron Siewert was able to put his first guard on the bench and enable perspective players such as A-youth talent Jan Grüner playing time. However, this did not change the sovereign appearance and the high lead. Instead of taking the foot off the gas, the Berliners remained merciless to the end and in the end prevailed with 43:28.
