Next soccer star wants to leave Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia attracts many footballers from Europe to the country. However, there are some professionals who are not happy there. Now another one was added.

Saudi Arabia and clubs like Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal are attracting more and more professionals from Europe to the Saudi Pro League. Recently, however, there have been several professionals who felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave the league.

With Sergej Milinković-Savić there is now apparently another addition. According to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the 28-year-old midfielder, who moved to Al-Hilal from Lazio last year, is said to have said to his former teammates in Rome: “I miss you so much. I would like to go back Lazio return.”

“A big change”

Milinković-Savić is said to have met her at the airport in Riyadh. Recently, one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate at Al-Nassr, Aymeric Laporte, said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper “AS”: “It’s a big change compared to Europe, but in the end it’s just about adapting. You have “We didn’t make it too easy for us. There are actually a lot of players who are unhappy, but we’re working on it every day and we’ll see if it gets a little better.”

Laporte, 29, moved from Manchester City to Saudi Arabia last August. He doesn’t want to leave the country yet and will wait and see how things develop.

An example of a professional who has already left the country is Jordan Henderson. The 33-year-old Englishman moved from Liverpool to Al-Ettifaq in July 2023 and to Ajax this month.

He himself said: “A lot of people would like to see me destroy the league there, but sometimes it just doesn’t fit. I wouldn’t advise anyone not to go there. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me.”
