Since this week, a large work of art of an old brewing kettle has been placed at the Duivelshoek car park in the center of Coevorden. The boiler refers to the brewery that stood here in the last century.

The artwork, created by the Frisian artist Hans Jouta, depicts an old brewing kettle in which beer is distilled. The sparkling bubbles that come from the cauldron symbolize the movement and activity in the city. The kettle was symbolically baptized this week with Coevorden beer by local residents.

The installation of the artwork marks the completion of the redesign of the parking area. The car park was expanded this year from 64 to 116 parking spaces and redesigned as part of the redevelopment of the market-port area of the fortified city. The Duivelshoek will become a central parking location in Coevorden.
