New transfer rumors about Marco Reus

Will Borussia Dortmund and Marco Reus soon go their separate ways? Clubs from Saudi Arabia and the North American MLS are said to be keen on the former BVB captain.

At least that’s what transfer expert Ekrem Konur reported on the social network X (formerly Twitter), without mentioning the names of the interested clubs. The post also does not contain any information about whether it is a change in the current transfer period or in the summer.

Reus’ contract with BVB expires after the current season. According to reports, a decision on an extension will be made in the course of the spring.

However, “Bild” had recently speculated that the 34-year-old’s chances of staying at his heart’s club might no longer be that great.

Accordingly, BVB is planning with the designated new signing and returnee Jadon Sancho not only in his parade position, the offensive wing, but also on the ten – i.e. where Reus feels most comfortable. The resulting competition could lead to the veteran, who is no longer employed under coach Edin Terzic, receiving even less playing time in the future – and therefore being able to gather fewer arguments for continued employment at BVB.

Making matters worse is Reus’ alleged role as the ringleader of a team revolt against Terzic, the media report said.

Marco Reus denies “attempted coup” at BVB

However, the native of Dortmund recently clearly rejected these allegations. “There was no attempted coup. Neither by me nor by other players. Reading that was hard. And it also made me angry,” he told “Sport1”.

Reus also said that he “hasn’t thought about his future at BVB yet.” The veteran added that he “currently feels no pressure” on the subject.
