The first test is planned for Halloween, traditionally one of the busiest days before the amusement park. Mayor Wim Janssens supports the initiative, but emphasizes that more flanking measures are needed. “Not only on the E40, but also on the main road in Adinkerke. Think of a smoother flow, ensuring that the train no longer stands still on the road that the tram can pass better, make the intersection to the church safer and make the car parks easier accessible.”

Brouns also acknowledges that the problem is wider than just traffic and parking at Plopsaland. “This is a much larger traffic challenge. In the short term, the parking plan can remove pressure, but there must be structural solutions,” he says.
