New managing director at lingerie supplier Van de Velde

Peter Corijn becomes the new managing director of the lingerie brand Van de Velde.

As of May 1, Corijn will replace current CEO Marleen Vesen, the Belgian lingerie company announced on Thursday. With the change in leadership, Vesen will take up a position on the Board of Directors.

With this, Vesen ends her three-year term as Managing Director. She took over the position in 2019 – at a time when Van de Velde was dealing with declining sales and troubled relationships with retail partners. Although Vesen also had to overcome the hurdles of the pandemic, by having “the right strategic priorities” she was able to achieve good development for the company, which according to Van de Velde is reflected in the company’s key figures – sales, Ebitda and cash flow are developing positively. “I am confident about Van de Velde’s future growth path. We have laid a strong foundation to look positively to the future.” says Vesen.

Corijn brings years of experience in marketing and branding. Previously, he worked for the consumer goods provider Protect & Gamble and for the tobacco group Imperial Brands. He describes the new position as his “dream job”.

Van de Velde produces fashionable lingerie with the brands PrimaDonna, Marie Jo and Andres Sarda. The company currently works with 3,600 independent lingerie boutiques worldwide and has its own retail network with the Rigby & Peller and Lincherie retail concepts.
