New Era and Daily Paper pay tribute to the peaked cap

Amsterdam-based streetwear brand Daily Paper has teamed up with US cap supplier New Era.

Together, the two brands are reinterpreting New Era’s so-called 59Fifty Cap and paying tribute to the peaked cap’s cultural significance, Daily Paper announced last week.

The New Era “59Fifty” model at the center of the collaboration is the official field and sideline cap of the MLB, the US professional baseball league, the American Football League (NFL) and the US professional basketball league, NBA . It is also considered a fashion symbol in the hip-hop community and represents the self-expression of athletes, artists and fashion icons, according to the statement.

The Daily Paper x New Era cap comes in black with a gray lower brim featuring both brands’ logos. The model costs 69.95 euros and has been available since Friday in Daily Paper stores in Amsterdam, London and New York as well as on the New Era website.
