The email exchange was initially between Epstein and his then girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell about a press inquiry from a tabloid that announced it would publish a story about alleged abuse of Virginia Giuffre.

An email in which Epstein writes that he does not intend to respond later ends up with someone listed as ‘The Duke’, presumably Andrew. “What? I don’t know anything about this. How are you going to respond to this?” King Charles’ younger brother is said to have replied.
‘Obscene and ridiculous’
“I just got it two minutes ago,” Epstein then states. “I asked the lawyers to send a letter. Not sure… it’s so obscene and ridiculous, I don’t know how to respond. The only person she didn’t have sex with was Elvis.”

Andrew then appears to say: “Make sure any statement or legal letter clearly states that I am NOT involved and that I knew and am NOT aware of these allegations. I can’t take this anymore.”
Giuffre, who died earlier this year, accused the former Duke of York, who recently had to surrender all his titles, of sexual abuse when she was still a minor. Andrew has always denied all allegations.
