Just a few more nights of sleep and then the time has come: the brand new restaurant will open on February 5 Chez Lou Lou. Owner Stephan Spitsbaard talks about his catering adventure and what we can expect in this new Zoetermeer hotspot.
You may know the building of the new Chez Lou Lou as the Clooney restaurant. Stephan and his associates thought it was time for a new kind of restaurant in Zoetermeer. Stephan says: “Chez Lou Lou is more fine dining. You can go there all day long for tasty dishes, to share or just for yourself.”
The concept
Chez Lou Lou will soon be open all day. “One with us fine diningconcept is accessible to everyone,” says Stephan. “We cook ourselves, so not from packets and bags. You can expect all kinds of dishes meant for sharing, from gyoza and sushi to tuna tacos. Would you rather have a main course for yourself? That is also possible.” There will also be a beautiful new terrace that is open all seasons.
Time for innovation
Before it became Chez Lou Lou, you could find it in this building City heart Clooney restaurant. According to Stephan, it was the hotspot in the city when it first opened. “There are now all kinds of beautiful catering establishments around it,” he says. “In order to innovate and ensure that we are once again a great addition to this part of Zoetermeer, we are now opting for a new concept. Hopefully we will also reach new people who are normally less likely to visit the city center.”
A real catering man
Stephan is a real catering man and sees an entrepreneurial dream come true with this new business. “I once attended hotel school. After that I worked at Van der Valk for a while,” he says. “I also met my wife and partner Samantha there. I have had my own restaurant for some time and then worked for Rene – the third partner – for a number of years. That click was so good that we absolutely dare to take on this adventure together.”
The most beautiful location
According to Stephan, the location in the Stadshart is ideal. “This really is the most beautiful place in the city. There is a lot of nice offer, the atmosphere is great. As far as we are concerned, it couldn’t be better.” As a true catering man, Stephan can’t wait for the doors of Chez Lou Lou to open. “Because giving guests a beautiful evening and seeing them satisfied; that’s why I do it.”
