Dresden (dpa -AfX) – After a new clamping break on the still standing part of the Dresden Carolabrücke, shipping is again completely exposed. From Monday from Monday, individual controlled passages can be approved again if there is no further break, the state capital said.

The fracture was found in the area of the Elbe pillar on the old town on Thursday night, and since then, according to a spokeswoman, the closure has been blocked.

Last week, several clamping steel fractures in the two still standing bridge trains were found. Since then, they have been considered acutely at risk of collapse. The release for commercial shipping with prior registration was in the meantime, and urgent passages after registration were possible again from the beginning of the week.

The fractures are triggered by a so -called voltage crack corrosion, which is also the main cause of the collapse of the bridge train C last September. Numerous tension steel members are installed in the concrete of the bridge. If too many of them tear, it affects the load -bearing capacity.

The city has now commissioned a company to demolish the still standing bridge trains A and B. The work should begin promptly, prepare for this./JBL/DP/NAS
