THE HAGUE – A volunteer who has been working for eighteen years against the impoverishment of the Moerwijk district in The Hague was recently shot in the neighborhood in which he feels so involved. Willem (57), active for the Moerwijk Cooperative, was shot in the chest on 11 May opposite his partner’s house. He can now tell his story from his hospital bed. “This has to stop.”
