Nearly 90 percent of Puerto Rico without power on New Year’s Eve due to major power outages

A critical outage in Puerto Rico’s power grid caused massive power outages across much of the island on New Year’s Eve. This is evident from a message on X from Governor Pedro Pierluisi. Frustrations are running high among residents: “We are disappointed in the government, in the institutions, in everything.”
