NBA Europe and Middle East General Manager George Aivazoglou announced that the NBA Europe project will start in October 2027 and the cities of the 12 teams that will take part permanently in the organization.
According to reports in the Italian press, Aivazoglou stated in an event in Milan that one team from each of 12 cities will be permanently present in NBA Europe: Rome, Milan (Italy), London, Manchester (England), Paris, Lyon (France), Madrid, Barcelona (Spain), Berlin, Munich (Germany), Istanbul (Turkey) and Athens (Greece).
Aivazoglou stated that the NBA Europe organization is planned to start in October 2027.
NBA Europe is expected to consist of 16 teams, 12 of which are permanent and 4 of which are based on sporting success.

Natan evaluated NBA Europe and Middle East General Manager George Aivazoglou’s statement that a team from Istanbul will also take part in the NBA Europe project, which will start in October 2027.
Natan said, “We have been in high-level contacts regarding the NBA Europe project for a long time. We will start official negotiations soon. We are determined to take part in this project.
