Natascha is spoiled by breast cancer organization Think Pink

Natascha was only told last month that she has breast cancer. Resting is important now: a day of help with the household and a brunch were therefore happy. Natascha Haesaert: “In the meantime I have had surgery. I will only know next week whether I should receive chemotherapy or not. This is now a very difficult period, because I do not yet know what is coming. In any case, that is a train that has left, and you sit on it. You have to come with me.”

Think Pink is collaborating with Whirlpool for this pampering promotion. The Whirlpool household truck will travel through Flanders until Saturday to support Think Pink and breast cancer patients. Natascha is one of four breast cancer patients selected through the online competition ‘Think Relax, Support Pink’.

Shoot yourself into action

With the campaign, Think Pink also wants to encourage people to lend a hand effectively. Many cancer patients are not quick to ask for help themselves, so it is best to take action yourself. Mieke Deprez, Think Pink: “Do you know someone in your area who is struggling with breast cancer or another disease, try to support people in any way. Through a chat, also through very practical things. Helping help with the groceries, help with the housework. So do something, take action.”

Healthy food, meals to freeze

The four families receive not only cleaning help, but also a healthy brunch, prepared by Laura Verhulst, aka Madam Bakster. her husband passed away from cancer last year and she knows what she’s talking about. Laura: “As a caregiver, I experienced first-hand how intense the cancer process is. So it was a real pleasure to be able to help Natascha today. I didn’t hesitate for a second when Whirlpool contacted me. I chose protein-rich dishes with a low amount of sugars. In addition, the dishes can also be frozen. For example, patients can ask family members to prepare the dishes themselves, which immediately saves time and energy so that they can fully focus on the intense treatments.”

Tomorrow is the day against cancer. Think Pink conducts awareness campaigns throughout the year, helps patients and also supports scientific research against cancer.
