Natascha is perhaps the least known of the four children of René Froger and is therefore regularly confused with stepmother Natasja. “Sometimes I get somewhere and someone says:” Oh, we actually expected the real Natasja Froger, “I answer:” I am also the real one “” It is not a conscious choice to stay a little more outside the spotlights. “I just can’t sing,” she says laughing, referring to her three (half) brothers who are all in the music. “But I really like participating in TV programs.”

She didn’t have to think for a second when TLC called her if she wanted to participate in the new season of Say Yes to the Dress Benelux. Small problem: it was now four weeks before her wedding, she probably already had a dress? Not so. “I just couldn’t succeed,” says Natascha. “I wanted a nice dress, but actually not a real wedding dress. We kept the wedding small and we would leave for Paris for our honeymoon that afternoon, together with the children.”
Don’t faithe before the age of 40
The well-known motto ‘Trouw does not before your 40th’ is made for the Froger-Volg. That was also not a conscious choice. She has been together with Thijs for more than fourteen years. “We always knew that we wanted to get married once, but were just not so consciously doing. And actually everything is always a bit crazy with us, we only started to date when we already had a relationship. I worked in café Bolle Jan at the time and he often sat at my bar. We had been sleeping with each other for a while when we said:” Shall we go out for dinner, or so on? ” Eventually our first date became a concert by K3, together with my oldest daughter Charlie. ”

Together they later also had a daughter: Kaycee. The girls are now 18 and 10 and were of course bridesmaids. “I secretly find it much nicer that they can remember this day well,” says Natascha. “They were also part of the marriage proposal on my 40th birthday, they managed to keep that a good secret.”
Secret
And now they had to keep another secret: Thijs was almost the only one of the family who was not aware of Natascha’s participation in Say YES. That was not easy, because the recordings were in bridal shop Koonings in Deurne. “That is not around the corner and Thijs can check my location on his phone. That’s why I said that we were going to do a beauty day with all the women.”
When choosing the dress, in addition to the daughters, Natascha’s mother from Spain were also present, her mother -in -law, stepmother Natasja, sister -in -law and best friend. Natascha admits that she had to swallow when she went through the rack with wedding gowns. “I didn’t really like it all. But of course you have to see it. I did not expect that I could be able to handle such a naked dress like this. Such an edge that comes over your dress or crack on your back is very ugly.”

Fight against the kilos
Natascha recently lost a lot of weight. „Ik strijd al mijn halve leven tegen de kilo’s. Niet dat ik er heel erg mee zat dat ik wat zwaarder was, maar veel kleding staat toch mooier als je slanker bent. Bovendien was het beter voor mijn gezondheid. Inmiddels ben ik 20 kilo kwijt, rond de bruiloft was het iets van 17. Maar je ziet jezelf toch anders. Ik dacht dat ik nooit in die jurk zou passen, maar Ramona (Koonings, red.) zei dat hij zelfs te groot was! En vlak voor de bruiloft moest hij are taken once. “

Charlie and Kaycee were also given a beautiful Robe. “The look at Thijs’s face when the girls came running was fantastic,” says Natascha afterwards. “He really didn’t expect this.” The bride was given away by Dad René. “Extra special if you get married at a later age,” she says. “I had chosen a song that he did not yet know – pretty handsome, with my father – I Loved Her Firstland. It is about a father who gives his daughter away and that he remains her first love.”
No Bridezilla
They just got married in their own backyard. “We did ever start with the idea that we would be celebrating it in a big way, but in the end we thought: it is not about those 150 guests you have to entertain. Now we have only invited our favorite people. No scenario, no ceremony master and no ABCs, but just having a nice brunch in the morning, haha.”

Although the Witte Broodsweken are now also over, she still enjoys it. “It was really perfect. The vow of Thijs in particular moved everyone. We both had an A4 full of what we wanted to say to each other. If you have been together for so long, such a day will have a deeper load. We have already experienced so much together.” Whether it was the most beautiful day of her life? “Those were the births of my children. But this is immediately number 3.”
