NASDAQ stock Tesla stock: Tesla’s referral program offers tickets to Cybertruck event

Tesla’s Cybertruck has consistently made headlines since it was announced in 2019. The futuristic aesthetic, stainless steel construction, and promising performance specs have sparked both excitement and controversy. Now, Tesla has offered tickets to the Cybertruck Delivery Event as rewards in the company’s referral program.

• Cybertruck Delivery event tickets available through points through referral program
• 30,000 points required for invitation
• Limited number of participants

The referral program and requirements

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has been reticent about the exact timing of Cybertruck delivery. Although test models of the Cybertruck have repeatedly been spotted on public roads, Musk has on various occasions emphasized the challenges involved in producing the vehicle, Teslamag reports. Initially, the goal was to carry out the first deliveries in September, but this date has been postponed several times, as the portal reports. In a press conference, Musk spoke of “later in the year” as the new, albeit vague, goal. While the actual delivery of the Cybertruck is still in the stars, Tesla will distribute tickets for the Cybertruck Delivery Event based on the points collected from the referral program. On August 23, Tesla sent an email to its customers to inform them about the invitation to the Cybertruck event. The email was quickly shared by Tesla owners on various social networks including Reddit and X, formerly Twitter.

Tesla owners can earn points through the referral program by directing others to purchase a Tesla vehicle or Tesla energy product. These points can then be exchanged for various rewards. For example, purchasing a Tesla Model S or X through a referred contact is worth 20,000 points, while purchasing a Model 3 or Y is worth 10,000 points, CleanTechnica reports in an online post. The Company has established specific requirements for obtaining an invitation to the Cybertruck Delivery Event. This includes earning 30,000 points through the Tesla Referral Program, which can be viewed through the Tesla Mobile App, CleanTechnica said. At 30,000 points, Cybertruck event tickets are the most expensive option in the program’s current catalogue. This score equates to a value of around $2,500, as reported by Teslamag. Other products include the so-called “Giga beer”, which is only available in Europe and costs 1,500 points. Otherwise, three bottles would cost 89 euros, Teslamag continues.

The selection process and specific regulations

As the venue, Giga Texas, can only seat a limited number of attendees, there are some restrictions and conditions to be aware of, with tickets being allocated on a first come, first served basis, Teslamag reports. However, this selection process had already resulted in some fans being denied entry to the venue at last year’s Cyber Rodeo event.

However, this time it is permitted that each invited person has the opportunity to bring an additional person, which is known in the jargon as “+1”. A separate invitation policy applies to prominent journalists, investors and influencers who are invited separately to this event, according to Teslamag. This group is therefore excluded from the competition for tickets through referral points. Other rules and guidelines for the event are that each participant must be at least 18 years old and that all participants are subject to security clearances.

Technical details on the Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck will come in a variety of variants, which differ primarily in terms of performance and features. The single-engine version can expect a towing capacity of 3.4 tons and 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph) acceleration in 6.5 seconds, according to an online article by auto motor und sport magazine. In comparison, the twin-engine version offers a higher towing capacity of 4.5 tons and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. For those looking for even more power, there are also three- and four-engine versions with a towing capacity of 6.3 tons and 0-60 mph acceleration in just 2.9 seconds, the post continues.

In terms of range, the Cybertruck sets the following standards: Depending on the variant selected, the electric pick-up can travel between 402, 483 or even up to 805 kilometers. The body is made of hardened stainless steel, which is said to be bulletproof. This material has so far mainly been used on the DeLorean DMC-12, a car known for its futuristic design but not commercially successful, according to auto motor und sport.

Up to five people can be accommodated inside the Cybertruck. The interior is light and airy, thanks to a large windscreen that lets in plenty of natural light, as reported by auto motor und sport. Tesla has opted for a yoke design steering wheel, but also offers the option of a traditional steering wheel. The interior is minimalist and functional, with a central display controlling most of the vehicle’s functions.

The Cybertruck is also well equipped for off-road activities. The vehicle is equipped with an adjustable ground clearance of up to 41 centimeters and a special “crab mode”, the latter enabling diagonal driving. In addition, the Cybertruck has a 48-volt electrical system for a more efficient power supply, as reported by auto motor und sport.
