Napoli wins in Rome and takes over lead in Serie A
Napoli have taken over the top position in Serie A from AC Milan on the basis of a better goal difference. Luciano Spalletti’s side won the away game against Lazio Roma 2-1 thanks to a goal deep in stoppage time from Fabián Ruiz, who scored from distance. It was the last attack of the evening. Shortly before Ruiz’s winning goal, substitute Pedro equalized with a volley.
Napoli seemed to be heading for a narrow 1-0 win. After an hour, Insigne took advantage of the home side’s poor defense. He received the ball outside the penalty area and struck from almost 20 meters.
Napoli took advantage of AC Milan’s loss of points, which drew 1-1 against Udinese on Friday. Internazionale also dropped points this round: 0-0 against Genoa. Inter have 2 points less than Napoli, but still have a duel in credit.
