SSC Napoli will have to do without new signing Kevin De Bruyne (34) for a longer period of time. According to the Italian champions, the midfielder suffered a serious muscle injury in his right thigh during the win in the top game against Inter Milan (3-1). According to media reports, De Bruyne will be out for several months.
The Belgian had given Serie A leaders the lead against Inter in the 33rd minute with a penalty, but was injured during this very action. Immediately after the execution, De Bruyne grabbed the back of his thigh and limped into the dressing room supported by two supervisors. Mathías Olivera came on to replace him.
The midfield veteran, who has already started rehab, will also be missing in the Champions League duel with Eintracht Frankfurt on November 4th (6:45 p.m.). Both teams are just above the line with three points from three games in the premier class (to the table). In eleven games across all competitions for Napoli, De Bruyne contributed four goals and two assists.
