Naples-Rome, Mourinho brings flowers in front of Maradona’s mural

The Roma coach wanted to pay homage to the Pibe de Oro in the Spanish quarters, where he was immediately recognized

Greet and pay homage to Diego Armando Maradona. This is the first thing that Josè Mourinho did as soon as he arrived in Naples. When he got off the train, he left the team at the hotel and, together with the team manager Cardini, the goalkeeper trainer Nuno Santos, he immediately went to the Spanish quarters, with a minivan, to lay a bouquet of flowers under the mural dedicated to Diego. The amazement of the Neapolitans and the tourists who recognized him was incredible: when the van stopped and the Portuguese coach got out, people started shouting: “It’s Mou, it’s Mou” and immediately a small crowd of a hundreds of people.

AFFECTION AND RESPECT

Mourinho stayed a few minutes, just the time for a thought and a sign of the cross, but he was very keen to pay homage to Maradona in his Naples. And so he did, taking, before leaving, a lot of respectful applause from the Neapolitans present. Tomorrow Roma and Napoli will play a lot in the stadium named after Diego, but Mourinho, first of all, wanted to pay homage to the eternal Argentine 10: he will think about the pitch tomorrow.
