NAC has found its way back up again with a 2-1 home win over FC Twente. The victory lifted the club to ninth place in the Premier League. It was the eighth victory for Carl Hoefkens’ team, which had lost three league matches in a row.

NAC started the match much brighter than FC Twente. That quickly paid off in the first half. NAC took the lead after fifteen minutes through a goal by Adam Kaied. The Swedish attacker shot beautifully into the far corner after a short solo. Five minutes later, Icelander Elias Ómarsson made it 2-0 with a shot from the inside of the post.

FC Twente had opportunities before halftime through top scorer Sem Steijn and Michel Vlap, but did not score in the first half. Daan Rots succeeded with a header in the 77th minute. The club from Enschede seemed to have leveled ten minutes before the end through Ricky van Wolfswinkel, but the goal was disallowed for offside after VAR intervention.
