In fact assassination of a soldier in a military unit near Moscow, a criminal case was opened on violation of the rules for handling weapons, the Main Military Investigation Department of the TFR reported.
The incident occurred on the morning of January 31 in a military unit in the village of Troitse-Seltso near Mytishchi. Senior warrant officer Magomed Oligov only received a pistol with which he was supposed to accompany the cargo. Right in the weapons storage room, he “grossly violated the requirements for handling weapons” and accidentally fired. The bullet hit the head of 25-year-old corporal Vladislav Volkov, who was nearby. He died at the scene.
Oligov, about whom all the soldiers spoke warmly, faces up to five years in a colony.
The deceased Volkov lived in Krasnoyarsk, in 2020 he graduated from the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Siberian Federal University and wrote several scientific papers on the topic of ecology.
