The shooting took place in the city of Allen, a city of about 100,000 people about 40 kilometers northeast of Dallas.
According to local news channel WFAA TV, several people were injured, including children. The shooter is dead, the Collin County Sheriff told the channel.
A local MP reports on Twitter that there are “several fatalities”.
There have been 198 mass shootings in the US this year, the Gun Violence Archive reports. Those are shootings in which four or more people are injured or killed, not counting the shooter, the non-profit organization says.
