Return to youth club
Lukas Raeder returns to MSV Duisburg and completes the goalkeeper team around Vincent Müller (21) and Maximilian Braune (19). The 28-year-old, who was active in the Zebras youth team from 2004 to 2007, played for the Bulgarian first division club Lokomotiv Plovdiv last season, for whom he did not concede a goal five times in 20 appearances.
“Lukas Raeder fulfills the parameters that were important to us: He has the necessary third division experience and will help Vincent Müller and Max Braune to develop further. Lukas was passionate about playing for MSV from the very first conversation. He also convinced us with that,” said coach Torsten Ziegner. Goalkeeping coach Sven Beuckert added: “Lukas is the experienced man we were looking for, who accepts the role of number two but doesn’t accept it.”
