A motorist was spared an unpleasant situation tonight because he noticed a car fire in time. This happened around 9:30 PM between Veenoord and Erm (N376), when he suddenly heard a bang while driving and saw flames coming from under the car.
The driver didn’t think twice and parked the car on the side of the road. Not much later, the car was completely on fire and the fire brigade had to be called in to extinguish the fire. The fire brigade was unable to prevent the car from being destroyed by the flames.
Investigation must reveal how the fire was caused.
