A motorist in Emmen crashed into a tree this evening after a police chase and was injured.
The victim was taken to hospital. The incident took place at the intersection of Veldstuk and Zuidbargerstraat. An air ambulance was called, but ultimately did not have to come to the scene of the accident.
The chase started after a stop sign was ignored. It is not clear why the police wanted to pull him over.
The car, which was severely damaged, reportedly collided with the tree through a boulder next to the road.
