Brakes the drop in motorcycle registrations, scooters and mopeds recorded in January and February 2025. Overall, however, the first quarter remains negative. In fact, the sales of new means in Italy mark a 13.22% drop compared to the same period last year. In the month of March alone, however, the drop is 6.57%. According to Mariano Roman, president of Confindustria Ancma, the manufacturers’ association, “the trend of the first quarter 2025 has resentful of the entry into force of the Euro 5+ standard, which generated a surplus of enrollments at the end of last year. The fine series phenomenon will continue to probably influence the first half of the year, even if its effects begin to mitigate”.

Regarding the month of March, the loss on the same month of 2024 is more contained (-6.57%) than those recorded in January and March with 33,311 registered vehicles. The reduction of motorcycles are more accentuated, which leave 14.84 percentage points on the ground and targe 14,848 vehicles. After two months of flexion, the scooters are positive, which record an increase of 5.48% and 17,647 units; Instead, the situation of mopeds remains critical, which mark a drop of 45.12%, putting 816 vehicles on the road.

The electrical vehicles were affected by the late restart of the Ecobonus with the dedicated portal which was left only on March 18th. For the month, two electric wheels overall still lose 44.60%, equal to 605 registered vehicles. On the quarter the decline is 32.31%, equal to 1,460 the vehicles sold. Two -faced results for the quadricycles: in March the thermists lose 82.62% while electrics float with a +3.03%.
