For the 25th anniversary of Transfer market, we look at the players who have completed most missions in club and national team since the 2000/01 season. Compared to the last milestone birthday five years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo played at the global top and now even 1,300 games Received in his career – 300 more than five years ago. The 40-year-old Portuguese has been at the forefront not only in the games since it was founded, but also in the gates achieved.
In 2020 there were only two players with at least 1,000 missions, ten (ex-) professionals are now in the TM database who exceed this brand. On the one hand, this is of course due to five additional seasons, but on the other hand also because the historical depth of data is steadily increasing thanks to the help of the many volunteers. The runner -up Brazilian goalkeeper Fábio (44) from Fluminense Rio de Janeiro is run with 1,175 missions, which was not all of which were not all of them from the beginning of the millennium. Here you can find out how you can help expand the database and, for example, to complete Fábios career (to the data care guide)!

The podium completes Ronaldo’s eternal rival Lionel Messi, who is three years younger and, depending on when both end their careers, to catch up – even if over 150 games are probably difficult. The top 10 is dominated by the big stars of the past two decades such as Andrés Iniesta, Luka Modrić or the former Schalke Ivan Rakitic. Striking: having played for Real Madrid or FC Barcelona in the past 25 years brings advantages in this statistics.
Two FC Bayern stars in front of 1,000 game mark
With Edin Džeko in 14th place (987 missions) and the following Robert Lewandowski (982), Thomas Müller (978) and Manuel Neuer (975) there are other former and current Bundesliga stars in the top 20. Toni Kroos (919) followed by Müller and Neuer among the German players with the most missions in 35th place and Lukas Podolski (843) in the 75th place. The Englishman Peter Clarke is outlier in the ranking. The 43-year-old former U21 international collected many missions in the first three English leagues for Huddersfield, Blackpool, Everton and Co. and is still active in the sixth class, which is also maintained in the TM database.
