On appeal, a Moroccan court confirmed the prison sentence of 2.5 years for the feminist Ibtissame Lachgar for insulting Islam. The 50-year-old activist, known for her commitment to individual liberties, had posted a photo of herself on social media at the end of July on which she was wearing a T-shirt with the word “Allah” followed by the sentence “is lesbian”.
